Q: How much does it cost to use the ParcelPark service?
It's just £1 per parcel, payable when your parcel is received at one of our collection points. Parcels should be collected within 7 days - surcharges may apply for late collections – see legal documents elsewhere on our site for full details.
Please note that a 30p processing fee is charged for all financial transactions of less than £5. Parcels cannot be collected if funds are not available on your account to pay for their delivery.
Q: How do I make payments?
You can pay the parcel handling fees using a credit card or PayPal.
Your account with us must remain in credit. This means that you can only collect parcels when your account is in credit. Should you become overdrawn, we will notify you of this in the notification emails and text messages we send you. You should then credit your account before you can collect your parcel.
Note that if you wish to pay very small amounts at a time to your account, then the banking charges for processing the credit card become rather significant. Therefore, all payments under £5.00 incur a 30p processing fee to cover this.
Q: Why is it important to maintain the 'My Collection Points' list?
Sometimes parcels arrive at our collection points that are incorrectly labelled. Without your account number on a parcel it is very hard for us to determine who that parcel may be for. In the case where the label is significanlty damaged and the name is not legible, this becomes harder still.
If a collection point is not in your favourites list, then we will assume that any such parcel is not for you.
You can add any number of collection points to your list. We will add any collection points that you make labels for automatically too. Do not remove collection points that you think you might use.
Q: How big/heavy a parcel can I send?
Parcels must not exceed 25Kg in weight. Also the sum of the length, width and depth must not exceed 2.5 meters.
Each collection point has the right to refuse to accept parcels which don’t meet these criteria in which case your parcel is likely to be returned to sender.
Q: What insurance cover is provided?
ParcelPark will match the level of insurance provided by whoever delivers the parcel to our collection point (up to a maximum of £200 per parcel) for lost or stolen parcels and for parcels damaged by catastrophes (e.g. fire, flood,..) from when we receive them until when they’re handed over to you.
Our collection point staff will also visually inspect external packaging on all parcels when they are received and report any evidence of possible damage to the deliverer before accepting it. This leaves them with the responsibility just as it would have been were the parcel delivered directly to you.
Q: What is my PIN for?
When you first register with ParcelPark, you have to create a 6 digit personal identification number (PIN).
This same PIN number is used for two important purposes:
- to log in to your ParcelPark account on this Web site,
- for authentication when collecting parcels from a collection point (you will be asked to type it into a number pad).
Like all passwords and PINs, keep it safe and don't forget it.
Q: Can I change my PIN?
You can change it at any time by logging onto www.parcelpark.com and selecting the Update Login Details menu item.
Q: Can someone else collect my parcel for me?
For most parcels, the answer is ‘YES’. If you are happy to trust someone with your email address and PIN, then they may collect your parcel on your behalf.
It is anticipated that in the future some retailers may occasionally require higher levels of I.D. verification for certain parcels. The notification email telling you that your parcel is ready will always tell you if you need any extra I.D. (e.g. drivers licence)
Q: Is there a ParcelPark collection point near me?
We will be adding new collection points all the time and the best place to find an up to date list of them is using the Collection Point Map. There’s a link to the map in the green title bar that runs across the top of most pages. We will also send out occasional email updates to registered users telling them about any new collection points in their area.
Q: How do I use the Collection Point Map?
The collection point map allows you to search for, and find out more information about, ParcelPark's network of collection points.
You can work your way around the map by dragging it left/right and up/down. Alternatively, you can use the navigation control in the top left corner of the map to do this. The navigation control can also be used to control the zoom level for the map.
You can find out more about a collection point by clicking on its map pointer to show an information bubble.
You can add a collection point to your personal list of preferred collection points by clicking on the add to my collection points link in a collection points information bubble.
To find out about the address and opening hours for a collection point, click on the see full details link in the information bubble.
Q: How long will you keep my parcel for me?
Parcels should be collected within 7 days of receipt by our collection point. Any parcels uncollected after the applicable time period may be returned to sender – see legal documents elsewhere on our site for full details.
Q: When can I collect my parcel?
Once we’ve told you that we’ve received your parcel, you may collect it any time when the collection point is open. Collection point opening times vary – to find out what they are, use the Collection Point Map.
Q: What can my parcel contain?
Essentially you can send anything non-hazardous that a normal courier is happy to transport. See legal documents elsewhere on our site for full details. Please bear in mind that we do not offer any temperature controlled storage facilities.
